Print of the Month - April - ‘Red Kite’ - Original Linoprint
This year I plan to create twelve original linoprints to reflect an element of each month. These may be linked to geography, folk lore, the natural world around me or world events (but all will contain an animal somewhere or the other!)
This is my print for April.
In early April I took part in British Craft Trade Fair, which is located at Harrogate Showground. On each of the four days, red kites were wheeling about in the sky, with the hills and Crimple Valley Viaduct behind. I thought this would be a good idea for a print, and here we are! Designed to echo the feel of a vintage railway tourism poster or educational children’s book plate, there are currently four copies of this print available. They will be shipped when dry (in the next week 🤞🏻!)
‘Red Kite’ features two birds and foliage against a backdrop of a viaduct, printed onto 250gsm Kraft Stonehenge paper with deckled edges. Printed in back ink.
The paper size is 9x12”.
